An afternoon at the beach resulted in some pretty cool photographs.  The silhouettes of my friend (top) and the guy searching for crabs (bottom) go nicely together.

I love the simplicity of these patterns. So pretty. So classic. The tiles are similar to the (bottom) image in the post below, no?

Eat. Drink. Sew. I wish Byron had a cafe similar to Sweat Shop, Paris. I love the hues in these photographs, and the patterns are also interesting.

Look Up...

Always with my head in the clouds. Or looking up towards them. I love the patterns leaves make against the sky. Here are some pictures from my afternoon walk. It's getting dark so early now.

Mother's Garden

There are many delights in my mother's garden. Her vegetable patch could feed an army, and there  are enough flowers to supply a florist for an entire year. I love it when the raspberries are in season, we eat them fresh for dessert. Her chutney made from home-grown tomatoes isn't bad either.

I have been tagged by my cousin Catherine from Little Glowing Lights to share six things about myself...

1. Living in Byron, a student, originally from the Apple Isle.
2. I love riding my old blue bike everywhere... it's good for fitness and for our lovely environment. I
3. Food - eating it, cooking it, reading about it... I love food!
4. Collecting shells and pebbles from the beach. We find them all over the house and in old winter pockets!
5. Swinging  in my hammock on a nice sunny afternoon.
6. Traveling to warm, relaxing and secluded beaches.

Harvest Cafe

 

Harvest Cafe, nestled in the Byron Hinterland, is the perfect place for breakfast or a long lazy lunch. Local produce, yummy coffee and good company. X

Country Antiques

Country Antiques was a lucky find, however with a sign out the front of the shop exclaiming  'Dead peoples' stuff sold here',  it was hard to miss. Window frames, dining tables, biscuit tins, milk bottles... and a set of chairs for $6000! We had lots of fun in this beautiful shop!

Polaroid Fun.

I am a huge fan of Polaroids. They are fun and there is something very raw and organic about them. Living in Byron Bay, we spend a lot of time by the sea or floating up and down the coast looking for new and exciting places, so it is a bonus to capture these moments with such rare material. One Cold Front Last Winter

 

The sea is best when it is dark and gloomy. It's not all about fun in the sun. This particular cold front was responsible for flooding the entire East Coast of Australia, and by coincidence, the weather is equally wild today - a perfect introduction to the cooler months!

The Organic Garden
